(......) an excellent singer, Alison Lau. Her expressive singing and delivery were combined with a clear and focused tone and impressive agility, notably in her well-articulated repeated note passages in the concluding cantata by Hasse. Her simple hand gestures and stage movements were always appropriate, and she finished the Hasse cantata with a little dance!

Soprano Alison Lau was at the heart of this musical dialogue. Her dramatic and expressive presence gradually revealed the music's deeper layers. Her warm and sunny voice captivated from beginning to end, with a special revelation in the final work, where her rich vocal potential was revealed in all its glory. It was undeniable how the audience was captivated by her performance. Her flawless "oo-o's" and "aa-a's" were truly magnificent. These moments were like a discovery of pure musicality, leaving you astonished by the control and power she managed to convey with such refinement.

The program opened with Scarlatti's aria "Ardo è ver per te d'amore ," (......) Lau gave the piece a dramatic yet intimate dimension. Her voice moved through the ornamentation both delicately and powerfully, with a delicate understanding of Scarlatti's rhetorical style. Every musical embellishment amplified the text's emotions, while the interplay with the ensemble sounded subtle and warm. (......) In the aria, Lau turned the piece into a true spectacle. Her singing was graceful and captivating.

After (the concert) a truly roaring applause broke out. Not only for Sarah Connolly, but also for a procession of soloists around her, with the silver-rimmed voice and personality of soprano Alison Lau as Belinda (......) Immediately the first performance in the night scene from The Fairy Queen was enchanting by the soprano Alison Lau dressed in white. She sang the beautiful lines of poetry about the feelings of the night with shining expression.
